Flyx Map
Flyx Map has no account, no ads and no tracking. Your garage, photos, flights and documents stay on your device and, if enabled, as a backup in your own iCloud Drive (folder “Flyx”). Only you and Apple have access to it.
Data only leaves your device when you use a feature that needs it:
- Crew: when you post, your display name, title, text, spot coordinates and optionally a small photo are stored via Apple iCloud (CloudKit, public database), visible to anyone with your Crew code. You can delete your posts at any time; they are deleted when you leave the Crew. Posts can be reported and users blocked; reports are reviewed within 24 hours.
- Geo zones (“Can I fly here?”): the coordinates of the map area or point are sent to the country's official provider (DE: DFS/dipul, CH: swisstopo/FOCA, FR: IGN/DGAC, US: FAA via Esri). We do not store them.
- Flight weather: your position or a spot's position is sent to Apple (WeatherKit) to get the forecast, also automatically when you open Home. If Apple Weather is unavailable, Flyx Map gets the forecast from Bright Sky instead (api.brightsky.dev, data from the German Weather Service DWD); only the position rounded to about 1 km is sent. We do not store the position.
- Map, search and driving time: via Apple Maps. For the driving time to a spot, your position and the spot's position are sent to Apple Maps. We store none of it.
- Product link import: the page you paste is loaded to read its name and category.
- Product recognition: if Flyx Map recognises the brand (e.g. BetaFPV, RadioMaster, CNHL, Caddx, Holybro, HGLRC, Diatone, NewBeeDrone), the product name you typed is sent to that manufacturer's public shop search. Barcodes and photos are analysed on your device only. A manufacturer image is only downloaded if you turn on “Use manufacturer image”, and it stays on your device.
- Firmware notes: if you added gear or camera drones, Flyx Map loads a public version list (GitHub) at most every 12 hours. Nothing about you is sent.
- Feedback: only the text you send yourself, plus app version and number of your drones, via Apple iCloud (CloudKit), without your name.
- Usage statistics (only with your consent, switch off any time under “More”): number of launches, minutes of use, number of quads/parts/batteries, app and iOS version, language, under a random installation ID via Apple iCloud (CloudKit). No names, no location, no content. Switching off deletes your record.
Flyx Cut
Flyx Cut has no account, no ads, no tracking and no analytics. Your videos are analysed and edited entirely on your iPhone and are never uploaded. We do not receive any data from you.
- Photos and videos: Flyx Cut only reads the clips you select and only saves finished videos to your photo library when you tap "Save to Photos". Flight data from DJI subtitles (height, speed, distance, GPS) is used on the device for the overlay only.
- Projects, ratings and feedback notes: stay on your device and, if iCloud Drive is on, in your own iCloud Drive (folder "Flyx Cut"). Only you and Apple can access them.
- Sharing: Only when you tap Share or Instagram is the video handed to the app you choose. Its privacy rules apply there.
- Feedback by email: Only if you write to us do we receive your address and message. We use both only to reply.
- Subscription and Lifetime purchase (Flyx Cut Pro): Purchase, payment and cancellation are handled entirely by Apple. We receive no payment details and no personal information; the app only checks on the device whether Pro is active.

Flyx Trainer
Flyx Trainer works completely offline. There is no account, no ads, no tracking, no analytics and no purchases. We do not receive any data from you.
- Study progress: progress, mistakes list, streak and exam results are stored only on your iPhone (app storage). They are never sent anywhere. You can delete them at any time under More → “Reset progress”; deleting the app removes them too.
- No network access: questions and explanations are built into the app. The app downloads nothing and sends nothing.
- Rating prompt: after you pass a mock exam, iOS may show Apple's rating prompt once per version. Apple processes whether and how you rate; we receive no information about you.
- Links: if you tap an App Store link (e.g. Flyx Map), the App Store opens. Apple's privacy rules apply there.
Note: Flyx Trainer is a study aid and not an official offer of any aviation authority. You take the official exams with your national aviation authority (in Germany: the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt, LBA).
This website
This site is hosted on GitHub Pages (GitHub, Inc., USA). When you visit it, GitHub processes technically necessary data such as your IP address to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. The site itself sets no cookies, uses no statistics or analytics services and loads no fonts or content from third parties. For shared spot links (spot.html), the spot's name and coordinates are part of the link itself; the page only reads them in your browser and does not store them. Like any address, GitHub may log the requested link for technical reasons.
Your rights
The legal bases are your consent (statistics, Crew posts) or providing the feature you use. You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. Just email julian_kratzer@web.de.
